"Dave's Dream" Lowrider
early 1990s
"Low and slow, clean and mean"
Lowriders like this one are typical of the customized cars built by youths in the Hispanic communities of the American Southwest. "Dave's Dream," which began life as a 1969 Ford LTD, is the product of hours of devoted attention from a group of lowrider aficionados from Chimayó, NM. It boasts an iridescent paint job and reupholstered interior; a V-8 engine with a 428-cubic-inch displacement; and a special hydraulic suspension that allows the car to "dance" and "hop" in typical lowrider style.
