Groucho Marx's Home Movies
late 1920s-early 1930s
Groucho without the mustache, the cigar, or the silly walk
In this still image from his home movies, Groucho is seen in an uncharacteristic pose, tending his garden. He made these home movies--showing him with his wife, his children, and his famous siblings--during the late 1920s and early 1930s, when the Marx Brothers were experiencing their greatest successes on Broadway and in Hollywood. The reel is thought to have been filmed in part by his brother Zeppo.
