Benny Goodman's Clarinet
1967

The "King of Swing"
This ebony clarinet was made for Benny Goodman by the Buffet-Crampon company of Paris in 1967. Known as the "King of Swing," Goodman was an accomplished clarinetist and orchestra leader during the 1930s and early 1940s. His opening theme song was "Let's Dance" and his closing signature, "Goodbye."

Clarinet manufactured by Buffet-Crampon & Cie.
Pro-model--specially modified and tuned by Hans Moenning, specialist in wind instruments.
The "A" clarinet is usually played for classical repertoire.
